Statistics range from the creation of one blog created ever second to millions of blogs created daily, but every one of them potential bloggers have to consider one factor and that's the niche that they want to write about.
A niche is simply a topic that is most likely defined by the bloggers own interests and then it is turned into a writing project that informs others who are interested in the same thing, also it provides unique and original articles and blog posts that they would not find anywhere else.
Take Linda Ocasio's niche of Paper Dolls for Paper Doll Enthusiasts, it is a niche topic that does have lots of hobbyists within that niche and also conventions that paper doll enthusiasts can go to to meet other paper doll makers and collectors in person.
Niches can also be centred around an existing business too, and not just relegated to a hobby, in fact this is one of the best reasons to start a blog first, to reach out to an audience and then if you do decide to start a business, then you'll have the readers on hand to read your blog content.
So a niche market can be about any topic, just it makes sense to see whether people are searching for your intended topic and that they are going to find it useful when they get to it, Google trends and a simple google search can find some good topics that will inspire you in your niche hunting.
