Blogging rules

Welcome to bloggercoach.com. I suspect that you are here because you'd like to learn more about how to be a better blogger. And, that's exactly what I'll be addressing here on a regular basis. In this first post I wanted to introduce myself and share my qualifications.
I am a media specialist, having worked in journalism, pubic relations and higher education my entire professional career. I have a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Anderson University, and an M.S. degree in Media Arts and Science from Indiana University.
For nearly 20 years I was a television news anchor and reporter at three U.S. network affiliate stations. During those years I covered everything from spot news to features to investigative reporting to business news. I then spent eight years as a public relations consultant with a major p.r. firm in Indianapolis, where I provided counsel to client executives and produced video and New Media projects. Currently, I am the communication manager for Indiana University's School of Informatics in Indianapolis. More background information is available here.
For many years I've been a regular blogger, writing primarily about media and journalism, especially television. All of this is to say that I have deep experience as a writer and blogger, and intend to share with readers best practices that I've learned. There's no better teacher than experience!
The goal of bloggercoach.com is simple: to help you be a better blogger, creating more compelling posts and developing a writing style that will attract more readers and advertisers. Check back here periodically, as I'll be posting tips and suggestions on a regular basis.
Finally, I strongly encourage you to share stories about your successes or challenges as a blogger. Creating an active community is critical to successful blogging, and you're always welcome to add your voice to this blog's virtual conversation. Now, start writing!

Two things I struggle with are (1) blogger burnout - it's had to make the time every day to write a post when you are not always in the mood, but youv'e set yourself a goal of a certain number of posts a week and (2) finding new material to comment on.
Hope you are able to address these two at some point, thanks for your posts so far!

Slow Cycle Tour
I'm in trouble for not replying to comments, can you tell me why?
Also, I can't vote or subscribe to other blogs and my picture only occasionally shows up when I do comment. Is this because I don't have a regular computer but move from computer to computer while on the road?
If anyone can help, that would be ace.
tx heaps, Claire

A bit of planning can help you write more blog posts too, plan ahead to get ahead!
Over the next few weeks I want to get to the bottom of why people let blogs go and why they just lose interest in them, if you start something, why not see it through!
