Keep Your Blogs Content Tightly Focused
August 10th 2008 23:52
When blogging on a particular subject, it is always best to start as you mean to go on and by this I mean once you set something up it's best to narrow your focus on your blogs content more as each day passes.
It's so easy to go off on a tangent and try to be everything and the kitchen sink, I've done this in the past and sometimes I still have to pull myself back at times, by diluting your blogs focus you are setting yourself up for trouble along the way, not just with the search engines and the keyword paths you have already put in place, but you may lose readers when you try to be an every topic master on a broad range of subjects, as some of your readers only want to find out about the topics they subscribed to your blog for.
Lets face it, A doll makers blog would and could go into detail about how you make dolls in every aspect, but would they go off on a blogging spree with such topics as - buying barbie dolls or my daughter needs a bratz doll, I suppose you could figure this into your blogs content library, but it would lose the focus slightly.
What you need to do is always remember what you intended when you started your blog, the focus must be etched on your mind, it's ok to go off on a tangent, but keep it in your niche topic.
