Blogger Coach - Make the most of your posts!

Tips, ideas, suggestions and thoughts about the art of blogging. Class is now in session.

Blogger Coach - July 2009

Starting a blog has always been for me an enthusiastic venture, but for many, that beginning enthusiasm fades quickly when they fail to plan for the onslaught of content that they may have to write and so that beginners blog they tried so hard to write everyday for has been quickly abandoned and the blog dies a quick death that no one will miss because they never had the opportunity to know it.

Common sense comes into play with blogging and one simple common sense approach would be to avoid the mistakes of others and build a content creation plan and one that you must learn to be disciplined to follow, it's all about will power folks!

By doing this in blocks of time you set aside, throughout the week, you can achieve this with a little bit of determination, so for example, start to write a couple of pages of possible blog post titles on a sunday night, then the following night you begin to write a few of them titles into draft posts and whilst writing these you may come up with more ideas, so you write them down and add them to the list.

Then during the week, you may want to finish them draft posts and schedule them to be published on the days that you choose, blogging does not have to be everyday, but so long as any readers that become attached to your content see that you are writing new content on a regular basis then that is what matters.

Common sense applies to blogging when you present your content as useful, unique and reader focused, as for blog marketing strategies read all about it here - Ways To Market Your Blog

Article marketing is one tough online marketing method that has stood the test of time and is still going strong, it is one of the top online marketing strategies you can use to promote anything and with your blog you can promote either your homepage url or individual blog post urls(which I prefer, if they are relevant)

Article writing should be encouraged to a plan to do often, as it will be a good promotional method that will build momentum for the long term and bring in traffic for years to come if you plan it right, all you need to do is build up a good set of keyword lists for your topic and use this list to write specific articles in your niche, your blog is set up to write this way easily and so you should be thinking about search engine optimization techniques to capture your intended audiences.

There are a lot of article directories online today, but really you should only be using a handfull of the best ones, ie; the top ranked ones like ezinearticles.com, articledashboard and goarticle.com to name three, you need to be developing a daily or weekly plan to write a set of articles that will encompass your niches topic and deliver the subject matter that will matter to those who read them.

It's no secret that writing new articles daily or even weekly can dramatically increase your websites exposure online, so do it for your blog today!!

Blogging is one thing, but combining that with other types of media will work out better for your blogs appeal, you can diversify your content into other areas such as audio and video which will add another level onto your blogging and these are very popular to use as people are always interested in direct and personal opinions, but also saying it in a new way is vital to not tread over others who have gone before you with the same approach, instead try to think of a unique angle for the media that you choose and deliver it in a way that will be totally original.

The benefits of adding varying media to your blog is vastly apparent to many bloggers who embrace every new media that you can attach to your blog, they just seem to know what to use to bring in more traffic and they often are good at networking through social media like Twitter and Facebook, all the avenues you can apply to your blog the better you are able to build a network for when you need it with product launches or anything else you are promoting.

Adding other media just breaks your blog up into more manageable to watch and read media so that your readers won't get bored reading just blog posts all the time, also try adding images to most of your blog posts to illustrate main points or just to break up the text somewhat.

No matter what anyone tells you, always keep up with emerging trends in presenting your ideas and content on the web, it'll make a difference!

I've covered a few blogging tips myself, but perhaps one that is very notable for it's quite recent addition to the build a better blog tips that is out there, is Darren Rowses 31 Days To Build A Better Blog, it is an ebook that you can buy for an extremely low price, considering other ebooks of this nature and it has a great structured day by day of blogging methods, that with each of the 31 days, you can build yourself a better blog if you adhere to the day by day tips.

I wrote a mini review over on hubpages, if you want to check it out, here it is - 31 Days To Build A Much Better Blog
